Abhishek Chaudhary has actively worked in many plays in the field of theater for 5 consecutive years. He has directed plays like Gili Gili Fu (child play), Made in China, Bastar Maange Hinson Se Azaadi, Bhagavadajjukam, Ped Hai Sanse, Aadha Adhure. He has played different roles as an actor in plays like Gagan Damama Bajyo, Abhigyan Shakuntalam, Parijat Haran, Mrityunjay, Bina Darwaza Ka Kamra, Prajatantra Ka Khel. After in-depth study of theater Art from National Institute of Technology, Varanasi, he established Jugnu Theater and Film Society in Raipur in September 2020, and started training children and youth in the theatre Arts. It is a matter of great pride that Jugnu trained artists who are making their mark at the national level.

Objectives :

1. To demonstrate a set of basic skills in theatre like appreciation, analysis, expression, communication and explication.
2. To demonstrate control over voice and speech, body movements required for theatre.
3. To appreciate and analyze various theatre genres and style.
4. To employ reflective thinking skills to analyze and interpret scripts and performances.
5. To conceptualize, visualize and present theatrical performances.
6. To uphold theatrical as well as socio – political values in practice.

Execution :

A  Certificate course on Theatre art was conducted by the department of Education for the teacher trainees of B.Ed semester – III to have deep insights and understandings of theatre genres and styles. The certificate course aimed in providing platform to explore the unexplored hidden ability to express and shedding the inhibitions associated with performing in front of the audience. The course was conducted by Mr. Abhishek Chaudhary who is renowned personality in theatre art in the Chhattisgarh region. The course covered various aspects of acting like movement, voice modulation, improvisation, script writing and various exercises related to self and social awareness. Trainees were provided with the opportunities to improvise and create their own stories. Every trainee participated in the given task with great zeal and enthusiasm. The participants were continuously evaluated for each skills and activities. Summative evaluation was done on the basis of final Presentations (classroom productions and Performance). The theme for the final presentation was Idioms and Phrases. This course helped our teacher trainees to hone their communication skills, enabling them to express themselves effectively, connect with others and foster empathy.

Learning Outcomes :

At the end of the course, participants are able to:

• Appreciate various theatre genres and style and effectively and apply in teaching learning process for school students.
• Design activities for school children to enhance their creative ideas, expression and communication skills.
• Inculcate Aesthetic, Social, and Democratic values among school children through theatre Art.
